🏹🌲 WHO WAS THE REAL ROBIN HOOD? 🌲🏹

Today at The Homeschool Hut, our Unsolved Mysteries unit took us straight into Sherwood Forest!

After learning about the mystery and legends surrounding Robin Hood, the kids broke into groups and were given a challenge: create their OWN version of the Robin Hood story and perform it for the class! 🎭

They had to work together to decide on characters, create their storyline, and bring their version of the legend to life — and let's just say, we had some VERY creative interpretations. 😂👏

One of our favorite things about this unit is that we're not just learning about mysteries from history — we're finding ways to turn them into hands-on experiences that encourage creativity, teamwork, communication, and a whole lot of imagination.

🏹 Was Robin Hood a real person?
🌲 Was he a combination of several people? 📖 Or was he simply a legend that grew bigger with every retelling?

We may never know... and that's exactly what makes him perfect for Unsolved Mysteries! 🔎✨

Join us for a hands-on acrylic painting class at The Homeschool Hut!

This class is led by Rosie's Artistic Entertainment with a step-by-step demonstration. Participants will learn and practice acrylic painting skills such as color mixing, brush techniques, and more. No previous painting experience is required! Reccomended for ages 8 and older. Younger kids are welcome with parent supervision.

🌊 WATER ADVENTURE DAY IS BACK! 🌊

The Homeschool Hut is partnering with Lakeview Water Sports for another morning on Lake Jackson!

Students will get hands-on experience with:
🚲 Water Bikes
🛶 Kayaks
🏄 Paddleboards

Along the way, we’ll cover important real-life water skills including water safety basics, proper lifejacket wear, the buddy system, paddling safety, respecting wildlife, and keeping our lakes clean.

☀️🌊 WATER DAY! 🌊☀️

We’re having the BEST day out on the lake with Lakeview Water Sports! 💦 The weather showed up for us today — beautiful sunshine, a nice breeze, and plenty of smiles!

There’s nothing better than getting outside, trying something fun, and making memories with friends. These kids are soaking up every minute of it! 🩵

Beautiful weather + lake days + happy kids = a pretty great day! ☀️🌊

🧀🎨 Charcuterie & Craft for Teens! 🎨🧀

Grab a friend and come spend the afternoon creating, snacking, and hanging out at The Homeschool Hut!
Teens will design their own personalized “My Stuff Crate” using paint, stencils, and plenty of creativity. Make it for sports gear, dance supplies, pet stuff, bathing suits, books, bedroom organization—or create a completely original design!

🎨 20-Hour Acrylic Painting Course at The Homeschool Hut!

We’re excited to welcome Rosie’s Artistic Entertainment for a full acrylic painting course this October!

This isn’t just a paint-and-take class. Students will work through structured art instruction while learning color mixing and theory, brush techniques, depth and dimension, and how to use light, shadow, and value in their artwork.

Over the course, students will complete 10 acrylic paintings — 5 during our in-person classes and 5 as take-home assignments. Students will even receive their own set of supplies to keep at home, so there’s no hauling materials back and forth each week!

This unit we are studying Unsolved Mysteries for our co-op. Last week was the Beast of Gevauden. After our lesson we did a tutorial on drawing wolf's here are the kids interpretations. We love to see thier creativity 🐺
