In her own words:

“One of the biggest things I learned through this process of finishing my doctoral degree was to simply to keep going. From my first doctoral class to defending my dissertation, there was a lot of life happening in between.

Balancing kids, a career, family, and all the other responsibilities that didn’t stop just because I was taking a class or writing a dissertation. There were definitely times when progress was slower than I wanted, but I kept moving forward. Thankfully, my husband and family were there to take over some responsibilities so I was able to do the work and make it to the finish line.”

Congratulations, Dr. Kogelschatz! 🎓💙 We celebrate you and all that God has ahead!

Families can make a donation of glow-in-the-dark items. Drop them off at the front desk.

One HCA family will win Priority Parking for October Afternoon Pickup! The winning family can bypass the regular afternoon car line and pick up their student(s) through the front office during the month of October.

How to Earn Entries

Families can earn one entry for each activity completed:

Donate $10 in supplies to the Glow Party = 1 entry (items can be purchased from any store- see the list for ideas)

Attend the September PTF Meeting = 1 entry

Sign up to provide a donation for Friday Fellowship = 1 entry

Complete all three and your family receives 3 entries!

Entries are per family, so each activity gives your household one chance in the drawing. Families can get up to 5 entries for additional glow party donations.

Support HCA, get involved, and you might spend October saying goodbye to the afternoon car line!

*Aftercare families can use the parking for morning drop off.

🚸Safety First in our School Zone Crosswalks!🚸

Stopping at crosswalks isn’t just the law—it’s a lifesaving habit. Students and crossing guards depend on drivers to be alert, patient, and prepared to stop. Slowing down and yielding at crosswalks helps protect our youngest pedestrians and those who guide them safely across.

It is also important to stop before you get to the crosswalk when approaching a red light so that students have enough space to safely walk through the crosswalk without having to step into the roadway to go around vehicles.
Let’s all do our part to keep our school zones safe.🚦

As you kick off a brand-new school year, it's never too early to start thinking about your future!

Mark your calendars for the Highlands County College & Trade Fair on Tuesday, August 18th, from 5:30 PM to 7:00 PM at the Sebring High School Smith Center.

This event is FREE and open to all middle and high school students! Meet representatives from more than 30 colleges, universities, and trade schools, ask questions, explore your options, and discover exciting opportunities for life after graduation.

Whether you already have a plan or you're just starting to explore what's out there, this event is for you. Bring your family, bring your questions, and we'll see you on August 18th!
