PSA: "Senior Assassin" game comes with major risks
This week, the Highlands County Sheriff's Office School Resource Unit learned that a large group of Sebring High School students was planning to take part in a game called "Senior Assassin."
The game involves students attempting to “assassinate” seniors using water guns, Orbeez guns, Nerf guns, and similar items.
SHS has sent a message to students and parents, and HCSO wants students at all schools to understand the risks associated with this game.
Bringing any item that even resembles a weapon onto school grounds is a crime and could result in an arrest and expulsion from school.
Even off campus, this type of game carries a risk. While many of the "weapons" used are brightly colored, they still could be mistaken for a real fi***rm and provoke a response from someone with a real gun who believes they are acting in self-defense or in defense of another person.
Parents, please talk to your students about the dangers of this type of activity.
