My studies include 2 BA Degrees from Sonoma State University in Expressive Arts (1979) and Theater (1991). Performance experience also includes choral and ensemble singing, musical theater, folk, rock and jazz. I play piano, guitar and percussion. I offer performance workshops for students interested in discovering essence and relative ease in front of a group. Currently, I am nearing completion o

n a recording project of original spoken word and song. I have assisted singers and songwriters in the production of original shows and recordings. In addition to coaching the singing voice, I have experience coaching trans women in exploring and locating an authentic feminine voice.

I believe the human voice was not just designed to sound pretty, pleasing or perfect. The human voice is a conduit from which our true essence may express itself.... a window from the soul to the world, IF it is allowed and coaxed into release beyond a limited sense of ourselves. Through somatically-based vocal exercises, I assist students in uncovering their authentic sound. It is an exciting (and at times, unpredictable) process. I create a safe space in which to do that.

MY GOAL AS A VOCAL COACH AND A WOMAN IS TO UNCOVER THE TRUE VOICE. TO SING, SPEAK AND WRITE YOUR TRUTH WITHOUT FEAR.

I have been a vocal coach in Sonoma County for 40 years, with degrees in both Expressive & Theater Arts (SSU) I performed extensively in Sonoma County for 30 years, as a singer and actor. I currently teach from my private studio in Sebastopol, CA. I can meet with you in person or online, as I perfected video lessons during the pandemic.

Well, what can I say about this remarkable singer songwriter, Emma Noren? She recently released her first EP and it is awesome!! I've been listening to it on Spotify and this song (title track) is one of my favorites.... A deep bow to you, Emma. What a joy it has been to be a part of your musical and vocal evolution. I can hardly wait to see what comes next!
