More importantly, gifted kids face unique challenges with AI that the generic "teach critical thinking" advice doesn't address. Their advanced cognitive abilities, intense curiosities, and asynchronous development create specific considerations.

The AI landscape is changing rapidly, and there are no definitive answers yet to how we need to respond as parents. But we need to start this conversation as a community.

There are local testing centers in Seattle and Tacoma. Hopefully, we'll also be holding some local tests in Bellevue as well.

Scholarship Details
• Selection based on a 550-word essay describing academic and career goals
• Application period opens 9/15/25 and closes 1/15/26
Eligibility Criteria
• Must be planning to enroll at an accredited educational institution for the coming academic year
• Applicants must submit an original essay written in English
• Scholarships are awarded based solely on essay content
• Mensa membership is not required

1. Visit the Mensa Foundation’s scholarship portal
2. Complete online application
3. Write and submit a 550-word (or fewer) essay describing your academic and professional goals and how your experiences will help you achieve them
4. Certify that the essay and application materials are your own original work before submitting
