Who is Hussain? Seattle

At the world-famous Pike Place Market, our WIH team in Seattle has done introducing the inspirational man -Hussain Bin Ali- and giving 200 bottles of water tagged with information about Who is Hussain.

Phenomenal work by our Bangalore reps, who came to the aid of those hit by the drought, serving 300,000 litres of water in the villages of Marata and Hirebadannur. In the thirst felt by Hussain and his family, an ocean of compassion can be learnt.

As part of the campaign, WhoisHussain-India team based in Bangalore arranged 3,00,000 litres of water for the people who have been affected by drought in Northern Karnataka . Two villages had been targeted. Details below :

1) Marata Village 40 kms from Raichur, 5 tankers of water in one day ( 1,00,000 L )

2) Hirebadannur Village 70 kms from Raichur , 2 tankers a day for 5 days ( 2,00,000 L )

Total water - 3,00,000 L

Raichur is 482 kms from bangalore and internally our team travelled 140 kms. Total journey was about 1100 kms. 8 volunteers went in two cars along with the tankers.

us to quench the thirst of those who are thirsty. Hussain Ibn Ali is known to have given water to enemy soldiers before the Battle of Karbala begin. However, Hussain's family was kept thirsty for three days before being killed in war.

He instructed his brother to even let the horses of the enemy army drink as much water as they want, and not to remove the water vessel from front of them till the horses stop drinking themselves.

The introduction of Hussain at UW went smooth and easy, gave out more than 300 water bottles, around 200 roses, and also 200 cookies. Students were interested in knowing more about Hussain and many felt inspired.
