Happy Monday from the Seattle Conservatory of Music!
We have some BRAND NEW faculty joining us for our 2018-2019 season here at the Seattle Conservatory of Music.
First up is our new Ear Training Faculty Lauren Halsey!
Lauren Halsey is graduating from the University of Washington in 2018 with a Ph.D. in music theory and a secondary emphasis in ethnomusicology. In her dissertation entitled “Exploring Rhythm in György Ligeti’s Late Works,” Halsey focuses on how Ligeti’s compositional style transformed from micropolyphony, where individual rhythms are inaudible, to an emphasis on audible rhythmic structures. Halsey currently works at the University of Washington where she teaches undergraduate courses in music theory and ear training.
We’re so excited to be welcome such wonderful new faculty to the Conservatory. If you or your child is interested in deepening your love and understanding of music, registration for the 2018-2019 season of the Seattle Conservatory of Music is OPEN!
