Flowers in February are a classic Valentine gift. Flowers that never wilt and last a lifetime are even better!
Doing every step of the process by hand gives Carolina Andersson a sense of connection with the places and the people that have practiced this art and handed down their techniques through time.

Sunflowers in February! What could be nicer than flowers that never wilt especially during this cold, dark month.
These pieces by were inspired by a wonderful piece of Yukata cotton.
Lynn was inspired by the shapes and strong colors of the fabric. The flowers were first carved and then different color layers of underglaze were applied.
The Silver was intentionally designed to support the shape of the form while providing a visual frame.

Make a bold statement with these handcrafted spiral earrings, designed to celebrate the strength and beauty of every woman!

Vicky Zomenou, originally from Greece, studied Jewelry Design & Making for 12 years before moving to the Seattle area. There, she started Porpe Artifacts studio to escape from her corporate life and pursue what she loves most. Her work tends to be sculptural, combining unexpected materials with metal in a striking contemporary design. But equally important are the stories that inform her collections. She loves creating inspiration notes, or intentions, that frame each of the collections.

Often, these intentions center around creating a live interaction between the piece and the person who will eventually wear it. “I want every piece to call out someone specifically, helping them express their individuality.”

Ashley Lohr is an enamel jewelry artist from Petersburg, Alaska. She's taught jewelry for 16 years and has her masters in Studio Art from MICA. Her collection is inspired by color and nature. The expansive surrounding landscapes and waterscapes in Alaska provide plenty of inspiration.

It’s been quite a few years since I’ve done a pop-up show. Why would I? I own a gallery! But Mangia Bene Catering up in Maple Leaf had a spot open for their annual holiday craft show and incredible food extravaganza so I thought, why not take the opportunity to spread the exciting news that Danaca Design has reopened a storefront gallery. I had a ton of fun running into people I haven’t seen for years and hanging out with The bookmark flyers were a big hit!

21 years. Can you believe it? Thanks to everyone who came out to help me celebrate 21 years alongside the grand opening of our new mercantile and gallery shop! Kim Cooperman kept a hopping game of 21 going all evening with commemorative Danaca Design brass ornaments as the winnings. Brass being the traditional gift for 21 years. Friends of the studio spanning from 2024 ALL the way back to 2003 dropped by. ❤️
Lots of energy and love went into our winter woodland window display! There’s a window competition in our neighborhood. I’m hoping our crafty crows snatching gems from the display will win the judges hearts. Wish me luck!
Thank you to the many hands that have helped over the past few months to make this new era of Danaca Design possible. My name is in the title but believe me this is community effort!

OUR STORY

Danaca Design is a small-scale metal-working and jewelry fabrication studio, founded in 2003, located in the University District of Seattle. We sell artisan jewelry and tools for jewelers, and offer a full schedule of classes in the art of decorative metal work and jewelry design.

The store-front gallery showcases independent artists (professional and amateur) representing a mix of contemporary and traditional jewelry, all high-quality and handmade. We host gallery events and special exhibitions throughout the year and regularly encourage student participation.

We sell a select assortment of tools and supplies specifically for the convenience of our students and the local jewelry-making community. The selection includes handmade tools, fabrication hand-tools, cabochons and basic soldering and metals supplies.
