Back in the studio after an August that filled my cup in the most beautiful way!

Between attending the IAMPETH calligraphy conference in Salt Lake City and wandering through the English countryside with family, I came home with a notebook full of ideas and a renewed love for this craft. Now it’s time to put pen to paper and see what comes of it all.

Shoes, bags, jewelry cases, eyewear cases, AirPod covers... If it was leather, there was a good chance it found its way to my table this past weekend at the Nordstrom Downtown Seattle Block Party!

If you’ve ever worked with hot foil on leather, you know every hide has a mind of its own and every piece reacts a little differently. Between the foiling fun and my front row seats to the live concerts, my adrenaline was pumping!

Seeing each item get that personal touch and having several customers came back more than once to get more pieces personalized made it so worth it! Plus, l’ll admit they influenced a few purchases of my own in return ;).

A special highlight was spending the day alongside such a talented group of artists, each offering their own style of live personalization, including my sweet friend Chelsea of Seattle Calligraphy | Chelsea who was providing beautiful engravings 💛

Clear Seattle skies and handcrafted touches = my kind of day!

Nothing says we thought of every detail quite like having your guests’ names handwritten on a welcome bag.

I personalized this set of canvas totes for a women’s retreat and love how they came out. I started by designing each name in pencil first to make sure the placement was perfectly centered before going over it in ink. Used a few different pens to keep everything permanent and bleed free on the canvas.

Adding aircraft metal to my list of things I’ve now engraved!

I was invited to provide the live gifting experience at the Purple Cafe here in Seattle for The Female Quotient’s Ascend Series, an evening built to support female founders and business owners, presented in partnership with Delta Air Lines and American Express . The room was full of incredible women, and I left with a serious appreciation for just how devoted Delta frequent flyers really are ☺️!

We calligraphers love the NY Public Library - The Schwartzman houses a magnificent calligraphy collection!! So, it was an understandable special honor for me to script this Mary Oliver poem for New York Public Library’s Lion’s Gala (which I attended as Montblanc’s guest). The poem was chosen by NYPL team and was included in the program. It was a magical night in the Rose Reading Room celebrating under color changing sky projected on that magnificent ceiling!

This evening was extra special because it marked a special piece I got to play in the partnership between Montblanc and NYPL, teaching calligraphy classes for the children of NY through the library’s summer programs. Forever grateful!

Some work trips stay with you long after you’ve unpacked.

Last month, Montblanc flew me to Philadelphia — to the 56th floor of the Four Seasons — to spend a week leading private, one-on-one handwriting sessions for their collectors and press. We uncapped pens, slowed down, and fell back in love with putting ink to paper. In the evenings, I created the handwritten details that ran quietly through every event — menus, place cards, welcome notes.

Congratulations to the Kimpton Hotel Monaco Seattle on this gorgeous new era for such a stunning hotel.
To celebrate, guests at tonight’s soirée enjoyed handcrafted cocktails, photos by Seattle Photo Booth Rentals , local Tom’s chocolates — and personalized vegan leather luggage tags by yours truly.
My favorite moment of the night came from the charming Tom himself, whose chocolate table was right beside mine: “You’re a machine — you didn’t stop the whole time!”
Not sure about a machine, but 150+ hand-embossed tags in 3.5 hours feels pretty good. Cheers to a beautiful evening and a stunning new chapter. 🥂

A brief glimpse into this lovely K&L Gates evening honoring women trailblazers in the justice system.
The thoughtful team wanted to give their guests a quiet moment to write a note of thanks to a mentor, a colleague, or someone who believed in them along the way.
Personalized cards, wax seals, hand-selected envelopes, and a little time to put something meaningful on paper.

They had me at Wallpapered English Pub decor…. but then you throw in social darts, hand-crafted cocktails, great food, and staff we are encouraged to share spread their joy with others, and I am SOLD!!

I absolutely LOVED getting to partner with for their official Seattle launch party to add a special hand-engraved touch. Guests chose a name or word of choice (yes, even if it’s boomshakalaka 😂) and a small illustrated icon to go on their b**r glasses. It was a grand hit and we finished off the night be engraving every last glass! Huge shout out to my assistant Heidi who kept everything flowing so smoothly!

I definitely recommend taking some friends to visit Seattles coolest new hangout at Flight Club!
