Mission Week and Mission Day 2026

The Seattle University community is invited to deepen its Jesuit and Catholic identity through the practices of attention and imagination. Mission Week will feature art installations, student projects, cultural displays, and interactive experiences across campus that encourage reflection and shared engagement. Mission Day highlights the arts as living practices that shape how we understand and create the world, connecting campus experiences to Seattle’s broader creative culture and Jesuit values.

24 students and staff headed out to the Embodying the Sacred Retreat over the weekend of January 30th. Their time was filled with arts & crafts, yoga, time outdoors, hearing talks from students, and small group conversations. We had the opportunity to spend some time in the beauty of the PNW while discussing the intersection of gender and spirituality. It was a beautiful weekend!

Escape to a beautiful retreat center overlooking the shores of Puget Sound for a weekend of rest, reflection and nourishment for the journey ahead. Give yourself the gift of time and space to listen to your deepest desires and discern how you might respond to the call to act with love, hope and courage in the world.

This silent retreat includes rich presentations based on the movements of the Spiritual Exercises of St. Ignatius, spacious reflection time, spiritual accompaniment and communal rituals.

Seattle University faculty, students and staff, from all philosophical, spiritual and religious backgrounds are welcome to apply, especially those with an openness to deepening one’s reflective experience through the Ignatian tradition.

Apply by November 10th

Today, Catholic communities across the U.S. stand together on this National Day of Public Witness to advocate for the inherent dignity of immigrants and all those who are on the move. As a community of faith, may we be a visible sign of God’s love, radical welcome, and solidarity with migrants.

10 days earlier, Bishops from the U.S. and Mexico joined together at the border to raise their voices about the urgent crisis facing migrants. Together, we will continue to advocate for migration with dignity.

Pictured here: Members of the SU community joined hundreds of others from around Western Washington in a pilgrimage to the detention center in Tacoma to demonstrate solidarity and express hope and compassion for all detainees and immigrants.

Stop by the University Ministry office from 12-2pm to pick up a prayer card.
