With the appointment of our next Executive Director Aren Der Hacopian and the retirement of founding Education Director Kathy Kuscan after nearly three decades of extraordinary leadership, Colorado Music Festival & Center for Musical Arts is pleased to announce the launch of a search for its inaugural Director of Education & Community Engagement.

This newly reimagined leadership role invites a collaborative and visionary leader to build upon Kathy’s enduring legacy and CMA’s philosophy of “Music for All...for Life!,” while partnering with Aren and Music Director Peter Oundjian to strengthen the connection between education, performance, and community engagement and advance a broader vision for music education across Boulder County and beyond.

Speaking of wins, one of my beloved students, who has been studying with me since June of 2022, just released a few songs (accompanied by Jeff Goodkind and Chris Stone) on Spotify! I am so proud of the hard work she puts into her music and so overjoyed she is putting her voice out into the universe. Kareena will be a senior in high school this year! Time sure flies!

Kacey Musgraves has called on a trio of mariachi-playing brothers, who were detained by ICE earlier this year, to open three of her shows in Texas next month.

The Gámez-Cuéllar brothers, Antonio, Caleb, and Joshua, will support Musgrave May 3 to May 5 at Gruene Hall in New Braunfels, Texas. The gigs are part of Musgraves’ upcoming Middle of Nowhere tour. 👏🏼
