Hi everyone! This weekend, WChE is having our annual 5k fundraiser event! Come join us on Saturday May 18th for a friendly competition among cohorts and enjoy our beautiful campus! Check-in is at Burke Museum at 10:00 AM and the race starts at 10:30 AM. Registration is $5 and the link to register is below and in the QR code in the post. This is the 7th installation of WChE's "Introduce a Girl" annual outreach series providing an afternoon of STEM demonstrations for young girls and gender expansive folks. Local student organizations and lab groups from different scientific disciplines will provide hands-on demos and interactive games that highlight the unique theme of the event: sustainability and green technology! We also provide custom designed patches to any Girl Scout who attends the event!

As we are 6 hours out from the 6th Annual Industry Event, there is one last panelist highlight. Here is Ben Ponto who graduated from the University of Washington with a BS and PhD. After graduating, Ben initially joined Sedron Technologies where he worked on a waste sanitation project. He now works as a consultant at the Boston Consulting Group, where he helps develop solutions from business strategy all the way to global health.

Next, speaking in the Leadership Panel is Kristan Soto. Kristan attended the University of Washington and graduated with her BS in Chemical Engineering in 1996. Since graduating, she has worked her entire career at Dow. She has worked in a variety of locations under Dow including the Netherlands. Kristan, in and outside of work, enjoys working with Society of Women Engineers and the Zonta Club of Midland.

Next, is Jill Seebergh who currently works at Boeing as a Principal Senior Technical Fellow. She graduated from the University of Washington with a MS and PhD in Chemical Engineering. Now, she is in the Research and Development sector of Boeing where she helps develop chemical technologies to enhance sustainability, improve safety and aircraft performance. Next up, is Harrison Sarsito who graduated with both his BS and a 2-year MS from the University of Washington. After graduating, Harrison joined ZS Consulting Group as a Decision Analytics Associate. Here, he has worked with a Fortune 500 tech company on projects involving market analytics and sales force compensation.
