Bringing art to life with NASA - National Aeronautics and Space Administration 🚀🎨🌌
For their senior capstone project, a team of four Seattle University computer science students worked with the NASA Psyche mission to create an interactive virtual reality game to showcase hundreds of art pieces created through the Psyche Inspired program.
“I didn't come into this with a background in game development, so the learning curve was steep, but we eventually found our rhythm. The real key was just staying on the same page as a team and keeping a constant dialogue with our sponsor,” says Jakob Balkovec, ’26. “Watching people actually play through it is the best part of the process.”
Once completed, the virtual reality game will be part of NASA Psyche public events held across the country. Mission To Psyche

Last week, Seattle University celebrated our five-year commitment to the global Laudato Si’ Action Platform (LSAP), a papal initiative to envision sustainability in the holistic spirit of integral ecology and to redefine and rebuild our relationship with each other and our common home. Over the past five years, the Seattle University campus community has been engaged in growing our sustainability initiatives and working toward five main priorities, resulting in meaningful progress across campus operations, student engagement, academic programming and our collective commitment to creating a more just and sustainable future for all.

This Memorial Day, we pause to remember and honor those who have given their lives in service of our country, including members of our Hall of Valor, which commemorates Seattle University alumni who paid the ultimate sacrifice for our nation.

Today we hosted our fourth annual Ethics and Tech Conference where we welcomed speakers to examine how technological change affects resilience, governance, equity and public trust, specifically as it relates to technology, energy and security.
