Page Ahead is closing the literacy opportunity gap for kids furthest from educational opportunity. Succeeding begins with reading.

Literacy can make the difference between the poverty of one generation and the promise of the next. Page Ahead helps children realize their potential by providing them with the inspiration to read. Page Ahead operates on one simple and astounding fact: being read to as a youngster is the foremost predictor of academic success in childhood. If a child can read at grade level by 3rd grade, she will

A heartwarming interaction by one of Page Ahead's many restock volunteers shows the power of Little Free Libraries in our communities.

Over the last five years, Page Ahead’s Book Oasis Little Free Libraries have been restocked 836 times – putting more than 33,000 books into the hands of kids who need them most. Thank you to our amazing volunteers who show up every single month to keep the shelves full, and to our supporters who make it all possible.

It's only been a week since our luncheon, A Taste for Reading, and we are still buzzing from the energy, joy, and incredible support you brought to the event. Thank you!

As keynote speaker, Chris Robert says: "Book Up Summer is a no-brainer!" And it looks like you, our supporters, overwhelmingly agreed with him. Because of the extraordinary generosity of our attendees, sponsors and partners, we're delighted to share that A Taste for Reading has reached its goal of $210,000!!!!

Thank you so much again to our sponsors: EY, Peoples Bank (WA), Liberty Mutual Insurance, Washington's Lottery, AgWest Farm Credit, and WealthCollab. This event is not possible without their partnership. Thank you for imagining all the possibilities with us.

You did it!

Because of you, more children across Washington will head into summer books of their own. Yesterday, you showed up for kids and reading a powerful way. You helped turn empty shelves into shelves full of stories — and that changes everything.

Each book you helped provide is more than pages and words. It's confidence. It's imagination. It's a child discovering that reading can be something they love.

Today is GiveBIG, and it's our moment to show up for kids and reading.

Right now, across Washington, too many kids are finishing the school year without a single book at home. This means fewer opportunities to read, learn, and stay on track over the summer. But today, we can change that.

Your gift to Page Ahead puts brand-new books directly into the hands of children who need them most--through our programs like Book Up Summer, Story Leaders, and neighborhood Book Oasis sites.

$50 fills a shelf with 12 books. That's 12 chances to spark a lifelong reader.

Partners like Washington's Lottery help us imagine what could be possible when all kids have access to books. Emilie, a student at one of our partner schools, wrote this heartfelt note about the kinds of book she likes. Thank you, Washington's Lottery for giving every kid a chance to read with us.

Have you registered for A Taste for Reading yet? April 29th will be here before we know it and we'd love to save you a seat. Register at bit.ly/ATR26
