And here it is! Finally, after 2 years of promising something new, we have created a brand new retreat just for you!

I’m super excited to collaborate with a dear friend to combine our expertise to create this unique retreat! Where do ecology and yoga intersect? What can we learn about ourselves when we learn about the environment we live in? These are some of the things we will explore on and off our mat on the beautiful island of Curacao! And who doesn’t want to spend some time in sunshine in April?!

7 days/ 6 nights in an awesome private villa with daily yoga and excursions!
April 6-12th, 2024

Click the link in my bio for all the details. Registration is open! Max 12 people.

Best of Ixtapa 2023

It’s been a pretty amazing 2 weeks here in Ixtapa Mexico teaching yoga . The place is gorgeous, the people have been awesome.
There have been so many stunning moments where nature has been showing off, but these are my favorite, I think. Grateful to for the opportunity.

Which one is your favorite?

Photo dump from Crete Retreat 2023

Of all the cool things I get to do in my life - and believe me, I feel pretty darn lucky to do many things that I love in my life - running retreats is still my favorite.
There’s something about meeting a group of people who are all coming from their own lives and situations, and over a short amount of time, forming bonds of friendship, and taking a pretty special journey together. You can’t leave the same. It just doesn’t work that way. And I love it. It changes me every time.

👀A glimpse into the final yoga session for my high schoolers this trimester.

During a stressful time of finals, assessments and other projects, yoga can work it’s magic.

Here we create a space for releasing our minds and bodies. Mandala coloring meditation, written and shared reflection time, movement to shift the body energy, and ending with the sweetest yoga nidra, who wouldn’t want 90 mins of that in their school day?

Memories…

My mom just came across this photo of me and my dad. Since life was not digital I feel like so much of my childhood is undocumented and the parts that were, well, many were lost in all the moves over time.

I found myself a bit teary when I saw this one. It reminded me about grief: love with no place to go, as my friend once told me. All these year later, more life lived without him than with him, and it can still well up inside as this great longing. What would it have been like to be held by him longer?

So many of us have experienced grief and it so personal yet universal. May we all hold ourselves tenderly when the pain washes over and may we show ourselves grace and understanding because it doesn’t just go away. It evolves. It ebbs and flows, but it is, in some way a missing piece for always.

♥️

Reflecting as 2022 closes: I haven’t been one for big New Year’s resolutions and trying to become a “new me”, as advertising so often suggests, (whatever that means!) doesn’t make sense to me at all. Instead, I’m going to focus on just allowing myself to be me. All of me.

Here’s some stuff I know: So often I dim my own light. Intentionally, so as not to impact someone else or challenge their ego, and unintentionally, because I have been programmed to look for the flaws and and faults in myself and continuously try to fix them. For much of my adult life I have inadvertently viewed myself as something perpetually broken and needing fixing. Constantly working on myself to be a better person, to do better, to work harder. What I can tell you is that doing the work isn’t a bad thing, but only doing the work becomes exhausting.

So in recent years I have been reflecting a lot on all of this and I am learning to find the balance. I now value things like rest, gentleness and grace. Things that I have given myself too little of for too long. For the first time in a long time I am asking myself what I need and want in a moment. To be honest, I still default to wanting to make sure everyone else around me has what they need/want first. But I am asking myself and sometimes I can catch a glimmer of an answer.

Wishing all of you some good rest to nourish your body, some gentleness when life gets intense, and grace when we inevitably fall down. And maybe just maybe some acceptance and love for who we are.
