Skilled preschool teachers provide enriching learning experiences for your child. Experienced parent instructors impart guidance and support for your parenting journey. Our Cooperative Preschools are vibrant communities for families
• We have classes for children from birth through age 5.
• The number of classes per week depends on the child's age. Our preschool teachers provide a rich environ
ment full of learning activities that are just right for the developmental stage of the children:
• creative arts, pretend play
• sensory, science exploration
• reading preparation
• math manipulatives
• table games, blocks
• snack, music, stories
Our specialty is helping children learn the joy of discovery through play and guided learning interactions where they:
• build social skills, develop empathy and practice self control
Because parents get to assist in the classroom one day each week and the adult-child ratio is so high, the choice of learning centers to explore is wide and opportunities for critical thinking and social problem-solving are great. Kindergarten teachers find co-op graduates to be well prepared for Kindergarten. PARENT INVOLVEMENT
Parenting Educators from South Seattle Community College (SSCC) are in class to teach tips about child development and guidance that serve parents well while working at preschool and at home. Parents get to:
• work in the classroom one session a week
• attend a monthly, evening parent meeting to discuss business and parenting topics
• help with the running of the preschool
• choose from a list of free talks on topics that interest them most such as: Guidance & Discipline, Raising Boys/Girls, Separation, Sleep
