I’m delighted that Eastern Washington University supports Encanto and Jose Iñiguez”.

Performing Artist - César Cuauhtémoc Amaral Bernal: Was born in Tepic, Nayarit Mexico and immigrated to the U.S. with his family at the age of 7. He studied at Roosevelt High School in Seattle, where he played lead trumpet in the nationally acclaimed Jazz Band. César received his Bachelor's of Music from the University of Washington in 2003. Music continues to be a part of César’s life thru his family band, Banda Vagos, a staple of the Latinx Community in the Northwest since the year 2000. Banda Vagos has performed at Weddings, Quinceñeras, State fairs, Sporting Events yearly at Safeco and Century Link field, and many other social gatherings. Banda Vagos performs 45 weeks of the year and their crowds vary from just a few hundred people to over 20,000 people in attendance.

Supported Students: In attendance will be students who have been supported by Encanto Arts. There will be an opportunity to hear from these students on why their dream is becoming a reality through the support of Encanto Arts.

Lead Soprano – Mónica Ramos: Mónica is a Colombian singer that has had the opportunity to live abroad and sing in different countries. Graduated in 2007 from the Universidad del Bosque, with a degree in Music, Classical Singing & Instrumental Teaching. She studied under Ramón Calzadilla and Liliana Iordanova for 6 years, specializing in classical singing technique and performance. Although hers is a classical background, the focus of her more recent work has been on popular music and a rich Latin, jazz, and folk repertoire. She has been a regular soloist for different bands and ensembles singing jazz and Latin-American repertoires, including cumbias, boleros, tangos and bossas. Her experience has taken her to sing with diverse vocal ensembles in New York, Dubai, Abu Dhabi, Bogotá.

Lead Tenor - José Iñiguez: Award Winning Opera Aria and Bolero Tenor and creator of Encanto. José will speak on the importance of opening up our downtown theatres to all genres and races. Encanto has been the only Latino Holiday production to perform in Seattle Downtown theatres. His goal is to pave the way for other Latinxs to bring their talents to downtown Seattle and across Washington state as he is one of few Latinos in the state to have recurring productions on both sides of the mountains. José and his family have also been a huge supporter of the community through his music. Through his concerts he has raised over $220,000 for scholarships, art organizations and community groups.

Concertmaster – Ross Amkraut do Porto: Ross received his Juris Doctorate from the University of Florida Levin College of Law and he relocated to Seattle, Washington. We celebrate our commonality thru the arts and provide needed artistic mentorship to communities that need someone that has similar background to our principal artists. You will notice that it is intentional that our principals come from a diverse background. This is because we want our principals to represent the community it serves and it serves all people, from all backgrounds and orientation. We celebrate our diversity here and believe it is what makes Encanto Arts unique. Our mission is to assist rural youth from underrepresented populations in Washington State by promoting the performing arts, culture, and education.
