UW Center for Game Science
The Center for Game Science at the University of Washington. Creators of Foldit, Refraction, and more!
The Center for Game Science focuses on solving hard problems facing humanity today in a game based environment. Most of these problems are thus far unsolvable by either people alone or by computer-only approaches. We pursue solutions with a computational and creative symbiosis of humans and computers.

Teachers: Learn a little about computer science this summer at the UW!
CS4HS helps non-CS teachers learn basic computer science so they can add computation to their subjects. A little CS benefits all students, and exposing a broader range of students to CS is a great way to diversify the field. Come learn fun concepts including simple programming, free online tools, and "unplugged" computational thinking activities. Workshop taught by UW and Carnegie Mellon faculty, with sessions from current Allen School students and alumni! Check it out!
Overview | CS4HS "This is the most fun I've had in a professional development, EVER!"~2012 Participant "I was super impressed with the calibre of speakers and information given. This was a 'class act' in every way. Even the food was impressive! I will be able to use the information given to me to benefit my students...
