Oh what a night! Our students shone brightly at Spring Arts Showcase, with their inspiring and confident musical performances, incredible art gallery, and some very cool style! 😎
Morning circles are a big part of building community and checking in with each other every day. This grade 1 classroom wrote down what they did over the weekend, and gave their classmates a greeting + “bubble” high fives to start the day!
It’s been all hands on deck getting the incredible art from our students in pre-K through grade 5 all set up and ready for Spring Arts Showcase! Pro tip: come by during school hours M-F to peruse the artwork and take photos without the crowds! See everyone Wednesday!
Each spring we invite local grandparents to a journey back to school for a special curriculum presentation. This year, our fourth grade Math Olympiads showed off their impressive math projects and then played fun math games with our guests.
Students visited Volunteer Park this week and engaged in hands-on learning about pollinators, food chains, local plant life, and more.

Happy Earth Day!
In 2014 Bertschi earned the U.S. Department of Education’s Green Ribbon Schools award for excellence in environmental impact, wellness, and sustainability education. This national recognition affirmed what our community has long valued: that caring for the planet, supporting the well-being of every student, and teaching sustainability are not separate goals but interconnected practices woven into daily life at school.
The Living Building Science Wing, a space designed to function in harmony with nature, stands as a powerful example of what environmental stewardship can look like in action. Alongside it, the all-ages Green Team has brought students, teachers, and families together to reduce waste, conserve resources, and share new ideas for living more sustainably. Through these collective efforts, Bertschi has continued to lead by example, showing that young learners can be thoughtful caretakers of their environment.
