Seeking Global Perspectives on Community-Based Participatory Research (CBPR):
Are you using a community-based participatory research approach in your global health research? If so, we’d love to hear from you.

We’re looking to interview people about their experiences using this approach in their work. These interviews may be used in our online course Community-Based Participatory Research (CBPR): Advancing Equity Through Community Partnerships, developed in partnership with the University of Washington’s Global Cardiovascular Health Program.

We’re especially interested in hearing from practitioners, researchers, and partners who have conducted CBPR outside of the United States, particularly in low- and middle-income countries.

Your experiences could help shape how we teach the next generation of researchers to design more equitable, community-centered work.

Feel free to comment below or email [email protected] by 19 June to set up a casual meeting with our course designers. THANK YOU!

Last August, eDGH helped I-TECH Namibia develop the Nurse-Initiated Management of Antiretroviral Therapy (NIMART) online training. In many communities, access to timely HIV treatment is constrained by a shortage of physicians. NIMART addresses this gap by empowering nurses to take on essential clinical responsibilities—bringing life-saving care closer to where it’s needed most.
Through this program, nurses are equipped to:
✅ Diagnose individuals living with HIV
✅ Initiate and manage antiretroviral therapy (ART)
✅ Conduct and interpret laboratory monitoring
✅ Develop and adjust treatment plans based on patient needs

The course combines eight weeks of structured, theory-based learning with a hands-on practical phase, where participants apply their knowledge in real clinical settings. During this time, they are supported by experienced mentors who guide them in delivering high-quality, patient-centered care.

Why this matters:
👉 Reduces patient wait times for treatment
👉 Increases health system efficiency
👉 Expands access to HIV services in underserved areas
👉 Helps combat stigma and discrimination through compassionate, informed care

This initiative reflects our commitment to strengthening healthcare systems and empowering frontline providers to make a lasting impact.

🌟 Content Spotlight: Social Styles & Team Building From our course: Transforming Your Leadership and Management Skills

What if the colleague who slows everything down with questions is actually your team's greatest asset?

In Transforming Your Leadership and Management Skills, instructor Rama Murali introduces the Social Styles Model — a framework developed by psychologists David Merrill and Roger Reid that helps leaders understand why their team members think, communicate, and work so differently.

The model identifies four styles:
Analytical — Detail-oriented, data-driven, thorough. They catch what everyone else misses.
Amiable — Empathetic, collaborative, relationship-focused. They hold the team together.
Expressive — Creative, enthusiastic, big-picture thinkers. They bring the energy and the ideas.
Driver — Decisive, results-focused, action-oriented. They get things done.

Here's the insight Rama drives home: the strongest teams aren't made of people who all work the same way. Diverse social styles mean better decisions, fewer blind spots, more innovation — and a team that can actually handle pressure.

As a leader, knowing your team's styles isn't just interesting. It's how you assign work smarter, communicate more effectively, and build a culture where everyone feels valued.

Project Spotlight: Occupational Asthma

eDGH partnered with the University of Washington’s Department of Environmental and Occupational Health to launch an online course that helps healthcare professionals tackle work-related asthma head-on.

Through real-world scenarios, participants explore the epidemiology, pathophysiology, diagnosis, and management of occupational asthma—including work-exacerbated, irritant-induced, and sensitizer-induced forms. This evidence-based course equips clinicians to differentiate asthma types, interpret diagnostic tests, and recommend workplace accommodations for better patient outcomes.

✅ Designed for physicians, nurses, NPs, PAs, case managers, and public health professionals in the US.
📚 Practical. Interactive. Impactful.
