Seattle University Communication Department

The Communication Department at Seattle University offers three majors in Communication Studies, Journalism, and Strategic Communications.

The mission of the Communication Department is to foster the practice and study of communication to inform and transform society for the better. The department promotes the study of communication and the arts of persuasion, community-building, and journalistic reporting that contribute to the Greek ideal of the “agora” as the center of a democratic, diverse society.

Wow! Thank you to everyone who attended our first ever department picnic last week.
We had such a fun time and we hope you did as well. Hopefully this was the perfect event to distract you from the stress that comes with the end of the school year.

Everyone is welcome, no experience needed. Weekly staff meetings are on Monday at 7 p.m. in The Spectator office- located in the basement of Campion Hall.
