Pretty Plant Appreciation Post:
🌿❤️ Red Sheep’s Sorrel is a beautiful wild plant known for its vibrant crimson seed heads and tangy, arrow-shaped leaves. Traditionally used in herbal medicine, it contains vitamin C and antioxidants and has been valued for supporting digestion and its gentle cleansing properties. Beyond its medicinal history, this hardy little plant also helps support local biodiversity by providing food and habitat for insects. 🍃🐝✨

A Practical Life lesson on table setting invited the kiddos to thoughtfully arrange bowls, cups, cutlery, and serviettes for the dinner table. Through this purposeful hands-on work, they practised sequencing, organisation, spatial awareness, and attention to detail while strengthening fine motor skills and building independence.
In Montessori, authentic Practical Life works such as table setting, plant dusting, polishing, food preparation, and caring for the environment help children develop concentration, confidence, coordination, and a deep sense of responsibility within their community. These everyday tasks may appear simple, but to a child, they are magical opportunities to contribute with purpose, grace, and care. 🌿✨

We’ve researched, designed, and drawn our blueprints… now it’s time to build a prototype! Using tin cans and natural materials, our young engineers are bringing their Bug Hotel ideas to life while exploring creativity, problem-solving, and early design thinking. 🐞🌿

Before we can build our Bug Hotels, we must become architects! After learning what mini beasts need in a cosy home, Rivendell used special rulers, blue paper, and white pencils to design their very own Bug Hotel Blueprints. The kiddos practised creativity, planning, and early engineering skills as they carefully sketched their ideas. 🏠 ✍️

🌍✨ Celebrating Earth Day at the North Transfer Station! ✨🌍
What better way to honor Earth Day than by visiting the North Transfer Station and bringing our classroom learning to life! 🚛💚 The excitement was palpable as the children stepped into the real-world journey of our waste.
During the trip, they witnessed firsthand how different materials—Recyclable, Compostable, and Landfill—are carefully separated. This hands-on experience not only made our lessons tangible but also ignited a deeper understanding of their role in keeping our planet healthy. 🌱
Why is this important? Engaging in real-world experiences like this helps young minds grasp complex concepts. As they observe the waste management process, they develop critical thinking skills and a sense of responsibility towards the environment. 🌿✨
These moments shape their understanding of sustainability and empower them to make informed choices. By connecting classroom knowledge with real-life applications, we’re nurturing eco-conscious leaders who will champion the Earth’s health for years to come. 🌏💪
We’re so proud of our little eco-warriors and can’t wait to see how they continue to advocate for our planet!

We extended our knowledge of different types waste and took it a step further! We wondered where our waste goes once the trucks whisk it away from our homes. The children discovered the different paths waste can take—Recycling, Composting, and Landfills—and brainstormed creative ways to reduce our plastic waste. 💡♻️

On Monday, our curious little scientists dove into the world of waste! We explored how different types break down in soil. The kids learned that while recyclable paper and compostable food waste enrich our soil, plastic garbage never breaks down and can harm our environment. 🌱💔
