Dear Classmates,
Timing is everything, and although the math is unbelievable, with everything going on in the world, this is probably the first summer any “organized” class reunion is ready to gather.
By ready we mean, ready to travel “home” to see family and friends, ready to check on others and reconnect, ready to laugh and breathe collectively, in-person. And definitely ready to see one another not after a memorial, but on better, celebratory circumstances.
So here we are, trying to organize a gathering. Class of 1993: no one regretted attending our 20th reunion, right? Instead we were so pleasantly surprised at how much fun it was to catch up with one another, make new friends, and want to reunite more often. We are an inclusive group, compassionate and open-minded.
As you can imagine, it would have been challenging for this to occur last summer so we invite Decatur Class of 1992 to join us. No pressure, just know you are welcome.
There are hundreds of peers who are not on social media so please feel free to copy and paste this into a text, email, or handwritten note (haha who does that anymore?) as a genuine invitation to reunite.
It is impossible to have a single date that works for everyone. 30 years is THIS SUMMER. We know families are busy. Our parents are seniors, the babies are grown and busier than ever, and work/life balance has been beyond overwhelming. Yet if at all possible, please arrange/rearrange to join us Sunday 7.23.23 in Seattle. Come out and CELEBRATE!
If we asked each classmate after our 20th reunion to set aside ten dollars toward our next reunion, that would be a bargain of a lifetime. Yet the math adds up too quickly once again. So instead of one hundred dollars, we are trying to budget for way less.
To have our event space to ourselves (not at a random sports bar, no offense to sports bars) at METROPOLIST, we are planning on a 5-hour reunion event 3-8pm. Food & Beverage and special details are being planned and will be included. More details to come.
We need help meeting our deposit so we are offering an Early-Gator Special rate of $75 until June 1st.
Venmo will be the payment platform of choice. If you prefer another option just comment below.
There are plenty of ways to contribute and support this gathering. Even if you cannot attend. Many individuals are already doing their part.
