As you all know, we will be having a teach in and open discussion revolving around the importance of unionizing! Take a second to read through and be ready to bring your own experiences to our May Day event May 1st!

Spring Update!! BSU will now be bi-weekly. Do not fret, lots of outside 🌞 activities to come in place for general meetings! Follow our page for updates and see you next week!!

We wholeheartedly sympathize with those who feel intense fear, sadness, anger, and even hopelessness with our current political climate. But we want to remind you all that these times are not new and there are still ways we can stop this vicious cycle of greed and violence, through our labor!

Which is why on May 1st 2PM at the Kelley ECC, the Black Student Union will be hosting a teach in about the history and importance of labor movements and how they have and still can shape our society. There will also be a space for discussions.

As we keep eyes on internal and international affairs, every Thursday from here until before the event, we will be posting learning segments about different labor movements throughout history, including their demands, accomplishments, and how we can use their tactics even today.

We can still fight back, and the first step in doing that is learning our history and acknowledging our collective power.

Bring your peoples, yourselves and your voice. We will see y’all there.

Our 3rd week into Black History Month, “Black is Community”. We are collaborating with H.O.P.E to further the conversation on how the Black Power Movement is rooted in community! We must uplift all those within our community. Here to join us, we have Mr.Elmer Dixon, one of the Co-Founders for the Seattle Chapter of the Black Panther Party ie. 1968. Hope to see you there!
