Happy New Year to all our fellow explorers! It was wonderful to see our first three workshops come to fruition in 2017. We heard heartwarming stories from participants about the transformative and inspiring effects of attending. That encourages us to continue this series in new and exciting ways!

Phillip Moffitt spoke last night at Seattle Insight Meditation Society about the 'Nine Bodies'. These teaching were told to him by Himalayan yoga master Swami Sri Premvarni Balyogi. Moffitt's book describes 'it became clear to him that all our experience is composed of nine such bodies and that exploring these “Nine Bodies” yields insights into the nature of body and mind, which in turn bring “happiness, joy, bliss, and the peacefulness and stillness of realizing emptiness.”
If you are interested in the mind-body connection, you may really enjoy reading this article and checking out his book, Awakening Through the Nine Bodies (if you are local, East West Bookshop carries it). Beautiful illustrations in the book are used for mindful meditations and deeper understanding about the composition of energy around us.

Tomorrow we embark on a journey into raising awareness about stress around food. It's something that affects many of us, especially in our culture of 'fast' food, eating on the run, social obligations and so much more. Michele Curtis (Massage Therapy by Michele Curtis) is a Gyrokinesis® Instructor Seattle Changing Room - Gyrotonic and Gyrokinesis Training and will guide us through movement for the lymphatic and digestive systems.
