Many of us started drinking or using substances because we were looking for fun. Our culture tells us, way before we are even near the drinking age, that adult beverages are our bridge to a good time. It’s how we celebrate, how we let loose, how we transcend the monotony of every day life.

We are motivated by “the positive drive principle” which is to say, we don’t really do anything without a perceived benefit. Even long after the thrill of teenage experimentation or happy hours has worn off, the belief that drinking = fun keeps us reaching for it over and over again.

It keeps us stuck.

The word sober even sounds boring. But it doesn’t have to be. In fact it can’t, if we want it to last.

In our 100 days together, we will focus on how to redefine fun. How to create joy in ways that are expansive and sustainable, not limiting, passive and costly.

You will surprise yourself with how simple it can be.

You will rediscover what brings you joy, laughter and true fun. And we do it together, because fun is contagious, and we can inspire each other when we forget. Starting new habits takes some work, but that doesn’t mean it has to suck. In fact, the more playful we can be, the better our chances of making lasting change.

We start September 8th!

So many clients I work with say the same thing “I’m so capable, why can’t I figure this out?”

They know how to show up for others, how to set goals and achieve on many levels, and yet... they are stuck in a pattern with alcohol or cannabis that they know is draining their life force.

When you join the Clarity Cleanse you will be making a commitment to your self-care.

You will receive:

Daily practices for clarity + grounding in your in-box each day.

Weekly group calls over zoom where we get a chance to connect and learn together.

Tools to manage stress & anxiety for busy people.

A circle of women who “get it.”
Your spot is waiting if you want it.

When I quit drinking in 2018, I didn’t recognize myself anymore. The momentum of a full life had taken on it’s own centrifugal force like a whirlpool. I had picked up a few new identities in a the previous decade, and I didn’t know who I really was anymore.

I had become a wife, a mother, a teacher, and these three roles pretty much consumed my whole day. I got the kids out the door, went to work, came home, maybe got some exercise, did the family evening routine, and I had a glass of wine or two or three to unwind.

The problem was this didn’t leave any time or space for the me outside of these roles. All of my focus was on supporting other people.

I felt lost in plain sight.

Not only were my days chock-full, there was a depressing monotony to the routine that felt smothering and depressing. I didn’t know who I was anymore, and it was getting harder and harder to muster the energy to keep pushing through.

The Clarity Cleanse is not just about removing substances, it’s about gaining
emotional freedom and presence.

If any part of my story resonates, this program was designed for you.

This is a collage I made during the spring of 2018 when I decided to take a break from drinking.

It reflects what I was thinking, feeling and experiencing in those first few weeks without my usual routines and comforts. Collage has always been a fun way for me to experiment with imagery, color and shape. Using found images in new ways is intuitive and let’s my unconscious lead.

One thing that surprised me when I gave up drinking was how much time I got back. It was shocking in the best way. Time opened up and I was challenged to create new routines and to endure the dreaded boredom. I now know boredom is the doorway to creativity.

As summer wraps up, let’s focus our attention on what we need in these next few months. What if I we head into fall in community, taking turtle steps towards our health and vitality and creating sustainable habits.

We think alcohol helps us relax, unwind and celebrate.
But we also know that there is a cost on our energy.
Imagine no hangovers, no headaches, no regret.

Did you know it takes the body a full week to completely detoxify from alcohol and even longer from cannabis?

When we have a nightly drink or two, or even only drink on the weekends, we are in a constant state of physical, mental and emotional recovery.

What would it feel like to be more of your true self?

Instead of overwhelmed, let’s arrive in December calm, grounded, and proud.

This isn’t about fixing, it’s about becoming more of who we really are.

Together, we will practice real self-care: support, coaching, and tools in a supportive community of women without judgement.

Starting new habits doesn’t have to be hard and is 1000% easier together than going it alone.

Are you curious?

I’m holding space for only 8 women this fall.

Art for Anxiety — Alchemy Recovery 05/04/2025

My coaching teacher, Martha Beck has a new book out "Beyond Anxiety: Curiosity, Creativity, and Finding Your Life's Purpose" that feels like it was written specifically for me. The connections between creativity, curiosity and mental health have been something I have known and experienced and she lays it all out beautifully and offers even more ways to tap in. Her work has inspired me to bring back my Alchemy Art Lab classes this summer, and in preparation I have made a 7 Day Art for Anxiety free email series. If you're interested in experiencing this for yourself, sign up here:
