Lake Forest Park Fish Tunnel is open and the SR 104/Ballinger Way NE roadway has officially REOPENED in Lake Forest Park! 🎉
The closure for the Lyon Creek Fish Passage Project is over, and the new 24-foot-wide fish-friendly structure under the highway is complete! Right next to Whizz Kids Academy (LFP).
This $8.71 million WSDOT investment is a massive win for local salmon and trout populations, opening up over 7.5 miles of upstream habitat by replacing an outdated, undersized culvert. 🐟💧The Children in the Orca and Wolves classrooms(PS/PreK) had a special presentation from the Engineers at WSDOT. Teaching us about the project, and giving us coloring books that featured the Whizz Kids Building.

At Magnolia Whizz Kids "Spanish is our superpower!" We are incredibly proud of our DCYF Dual Language Designation and our Spanish Immersion program! It's wonderful to see this vision for diversity and inclusion come to life, most recently during our vibrant Día de los Mu***os celebration!

”I think it’s important, as a non-Hispanic person, in the shadow of current events, to be able to celebrate the cultures of this country, adding,"It gives people knowledge. The cure for hatred is knowledge."

Students lead in celebrations of Hispanic heritage - Salish Current Despite community fears, local students and teachers make sharing culture a priority.

Magnolia Whizz Kids Academy had a busy October 2025 involving community events, family engagement, and community helpers visits.

In our Reggio Emilia inspired 3-5yr old classrooms, the teacher isn't the boss but more of a research partner and guide. They don't just lecture or stand at the front of the room; they get down on the kids' level to explore and learn together. The whole point is to respect children as curious, competent people who can discover things on their own.

For the Eagle Class (ages 3–5), Reggio inspired community walks use Magnolia Village as a living classroom. These purposeful outings extend learning into the neighborhood, turning local exploration into hands-on, inquiry-based projects. The environment acts as the "third teacher," inspiring children to collaborate, investigate, and creatively express their discoveries.
