Did you know that Sandhurst has a sign along View Ridge Park naming us as the adopters of 70th St?
Every year the 3 to 5 class comes by with robot-arm reacher-grabbers to pick up litter!

FOR ANYONE WHO BENEFITTED FROM CO-OP PRESCHOOL OR PARENT EDUCATION:
The parent education programs are in serious danger of closing due to statewide funding changes. We need everyone who ever benefitted from parent education to help us to reach out to state leadership to fight for our parent educators.
**While our co-op is not at risk of closing because of these changes, our parent educators risk losing their jobs and benefits.**
Here are instructions on how to help:
Our Parent Education and Cooperative Preschool programs are at a critical moment, and we are coming together to make our voices visible. One powerful way we will do this is by bringing hundreds of children’s handprint plates to our upcoming press conference to show our legislators the families and communities behind these programs.
Please create advocacy plates with your children and help us collect as many as possible from every classroom.
How to participate:
Take a paper plate and add your child’s handprint on one side (see the example attached).
Across the plate write:
“It Takes a Village to Raise a Child. Save the Parent Education Program.”
On the front of the plate, write the name of one of your legislators (Representative, Senator, or the Governor).

On the back of the plate, write a personal message about why Parent Education and cooperative preschool matter to your family.
Each family can make one plate or several. Remember, each of us has:
Two State Representatives
One State Senator
One plate for the Governor
So you can create 3–4 plates if you'd like.
When your plate is finished, please give it to your co-op teacher or class chair, or bring it directly to our Press Conference on April 4, 2026, from 10:00 AM – 12:00 PM. The location will be announced soon. (If you are out of co-op and want to help, you can give me your plates or drop them off at the school as well)
We need a big presence. We need many families. And we need many plates.
Please also share this message widely.

A couple of recent field trips our 4-day 3-5’s have taken; first to the Seattle Aquarium, then to Meany Hall at UW. What adventures these little ones are having!

What a wet week! The 3-5’s are fully outdoor every Wednesday, taking advantage of nature in all its variety. This puddle hardly caught a break!
We made up a song that went something like, “Jack McScuddle, Jack McDash, run through the puddle and make a big splash!” There were toys out, but this crew hardly touched them with this kind of fun on offer. 🌈

Our Fieldtrip Thursday students are getting into the Halloween spirit! “Jack Skellington,” the giant pumpkin of Maple Leaf sparked curiousity and resulted in many questions asked. The answer YOU may be looking for….. it weighs more than 700lbs!!
Keep your eyes peeled, later this month Jack will be carved for Halloween and scraps cut from it will be delivered to an alpaca farm as a tasty part of their diet 🎃

Where there’s a wheel there’s a way!
Our Pre3’s have been settling into the school year and are bursting with play. This week they were wild about trucks, tractors, and airplanes. How many ways can a vehicle be fun? These little ones are growing big imaginations and the possibilities are endless!
