What an incredible evening at our inaugural Chancellor’s Changemakers: In Conversation event!

Thank you to everyone who joined us for an inspiring discussion about the future of higher education, the power of partnership between the Seattle Colleges and the City of Seattle Government, and how we can work together to ensure Seattle remains a place where families can thrive.

A special thank you to our outstanding panelists, Seattle Colleges Chancellor Rosie Rimando-Chareunsap, Ed.D. and Mayor Katie B. Wilson, and to our stellar moderator, Loria Yeadon, CEO of the YMCA of Greater Seattle, for leading such a thoughtful and engaging conversation.

We’re also deeply grateful to our venue host, Cascade PBS, and our event sponsor, JPMorganChase, for helping make this event possible.

This was a wonderful start to what we hope will become an ongoing series of meaningful conversations with local leaders. We hope to see you at the next one!

Last week, we stopped by the 45th Annual Washington Women in Trades Fair at Seattle Center, and the energy was incredible. Hundreds of people from across the region came together to learn more about careers in the trades, educational and training programs, apprenticeships, and employment opportunities.

The fair welcomed everyone from middle school and high school students to adults exploring new career paths and opportunities for advancement.

Seattle Colleges showed up in full force, with representatives from North Seattle College's Watch Technology Institute, Seattle Central College's Seattle Maritime Academy and SCC Wood Technology Center, and South Seattle College apprenticeship and pre-apprenticeship programs at the Georgetown campus. We were also excited to see so many community partners, labor organizations, and city representatives helping connect people to the future of the trades.

It’s inspiring to see so much enthusiasm for building a more inclusive, innovative, and skilled workforce. The future of the trades is bright!
