It is with heavy hearts that we share some difficult news with our community. After much discussion and careful consideration, the decision has been made to close The Bridge School Cooperative Elementary at the end of this school year.

If you click the link below, you can read a letter from our board to our community about the school's closure: https://givebutter.com/c/thank-you-bridge-school

With that said, we are holding a garage sale and community popsicle party and playdate. See details above.

If you're interested in purchasing any items from the school, some things will be listed here prior to our garage sale:

We are hoping to fundraise one last time to get us through closure with dignity and care. Your generosity is appreciated, any amount helps.

We hope to cross your path in the future and be in community with you on Saturday. 🌈

Our Movement for Mindfulness class has been curious the last two weeks! They read "The Sea In The Way" by Sophie Gilmore. This prompted them to take a walk to look for beautiful and unusual objects. Then they concluded the day with an outdoor mud kitchen.

This week they read "Niko Draws a Feeling" by Bob Raczka while they turned chalk into chalk paint and beautiful art. During the afternoon they played a cooperative water passing game.

There's still time to enroll for next year and take a tour! Reach out to our head of school, [email protected] to start the process. 🌈

Drag Story Time is a celebration of literacy, imagination, and belonging. During this visit, Kaleidoscope Play & Learn at The Bridge School will be visited by Drag Church* entertainer Kara for a special story time experience. The visit will begin with a brief developmentally-appropriate conversation about what drag is, followed by a reading of The Hips on the Drag Queen Go Swish, Swish, Swish by Lil Miss Hot Mess. Children and Families will also participate in a guided question-and-answer session and explore what the colors of the Pride flag represent through conversation and by engaging in a creative “Design Your Pride Flag” activity.

The experience is designed to foster joy, creativity, and a sense of belonging for all.

*Drag Church is a non-religious, community-led organization promoting belonging for gender expansive people in the greater Seattle area.
