PSAT and SATs will be taken on 10/21 at Cleveland!

All juniors and seniors will take the PSAT/ SAT on Wednesday, 10/21 and 9th and 10th graders will participate in what we call What’s Up Wednesday, with a range of activities (academic and social) for students to engage in.

Families can choose to opt out of PSAT/SAT up to Monday 5:00 pm. Students may also be excused to leave school immediately after completing the PSAT/SAT with family permission

9th/10th graders can indicate their preference for What’s Up Wednesday activities - please only complete if you have not done so already.

College Fair, this Thursday, October 15, from during an extended Advisory from 12:55 - 2:30 pm

CHS counselors are excited to welcome 58 colleges and programs representing 12 states and 6 countries, giving students an opportunity to explore a wide variety of postsecondary options.

Families, please remind your students about the fair and encourage them to identify a few schools or programs they’d like to learn more about before attending. If they are not sure what to say, students can use one of the provided question prompts to help break the ice - college representatives are excited to meet them and answer their questions!

Questions students can ask to start a conversation with a college rep:
1. What makes your college different from other colleges?
2. What are some of the most popular majors or programs at your school?
3. What do students like most about going to your college?
4. What is there to do on campus when students aren’t in class?
5. What is it like to live on campus? Do most students live in dorms?
6. What kinds of clubs, sports, and activities can students get involved in?
7. What do you look for in students who apply to your college, besides grades?
8. What should I be doing during my freshman or sophomore year to prepare for college?
9. What kinds of scholarships or financial aid are available to students?
10. What is something about your college that surprises students when they visit?

Help make Homecoming a Success! The PTSA provides volunteers and snacks for the Homecoming Dance-we’re looking for your help.

1. If you are interested in making a food donation, sign up here. We’ve had theme-related food requested, like cupcakes/cookies with purple, pink, green and white frosting, beignets, and sparkling c***r.

2. If you’d like to make a donation to help cover things we don’t get in direct donations, you can do that here. We’re hoping to provide mini sandwiches/pizza and plastic flutes for sparking c***r!

Join us for Eagle Night on Wednesday, October 7, 2026 beginning at 5:00 p.m. where you can pick up a grab and go dinner, visit info tables and learn about your student’s school programs at Cleveland. Check your Source to get your Student’s Class Schedule and bring with you.

Get to know teachers and staff, and learn more about the community and follow our student’s experience at Cleveland and see what it will look like this school year.

“Eagle Night” counselors will host a Financial Aid Workshop in the library from 5 p.m. on Financial Aid and College Apps too.

The PTSA supports our staff, creates opportunities for students, and helps build the school community we all love. Many people think now that the kids are grown and in high school, we don’t need to participate in PTSA at the high school level. Well, we’re still here, enriching the school community and supporting the school where the District falls short.

Membership dues are one of the ways we raise funds to support teachers, social workers, students and more throughout the school year, and being a member is a great way to support Cleveland and get involved with this community. We are ~25% of the way to our goal of 100 members this year—please consider joining! Membership is $30 for a family and $15 for an individual membership, but if you’d like to be a member and cost is an issue, please email us directly [email protected] (our platform does not allow donations less than $10).
