Happy Mother’s Day 🌸

Laurel Academy student competed at the 2026 Washington State Elementary Chess Championships this past weekend and finished undefeated with 5 wins! He placed # 1 in his section of 116 students! We are so proud of him! 🙂

Today’s lesson took flight 🦋

In our Montessori preschool, students build strong foundations through purposeful work like this geometric cabinet lesson, where shapes come to life through touch, movement, and creativity. By creating their own booklets, students aren’t just learning concepts, they’re owning them.

Music is part of every student’s journey at Laurel Academy. From preschool through 5th grade, students enjoy weekly music classes with our incredible teacher, Mr. Yuro.

Through rhythm, movement, and song, students build confidence, creativity, and a lifelong appreciation for music.

At Laurel Academy, our students begin developing autonomy in preschool through Montessori work that encourages focus, responsibility, and confidence. These skills grow with them year after year, all the way through elementary school.

We don’t just teach academics. We teach children how to learn, think, and do for themselves.
