We're accepting applications for next year's BESC through this Friday. We're looking for representatives from all departments and programs in the college, both undergraduate and graduate students. CBE students provide invaluable service to the College as student teachers, representatives, leaders and staff. Do you know a fellow student who has demonstrated excellence in teaching or mentorship? Someone who has represented our students within College or University committees with noteworthy skill? Someone who has served the College particularly well through their work in the library, café, or other CBE office?
The UW College of Built Environments Student Teaching and Service Award is given by the BESC annually on behalf of the entire CBE student body in grateful recognition of excellence in student teaching, service, and leadership.
Nominate a fellow student or two by 28 April here: https://tinyurl.com/cbe-student-award
In light of events today, in Washington, DC and nationwide, the Built Environments Student Council (BESC) wants to reaffirm its stance on tolerance and diversity. The BESC supports a safe environment where diversity and inclusion are recognized and valued. We are committed to fostering a welcoming and respectful environment across the College's varied programs.
We hope students will continue to participate in efforts underway to make the College a more supportive, creative, and empowering place for everyone. We encourage anyone interested and able to take part in today's Design as Protest events happening at 2:30PM in Gould Court, and we remind students of the College Diversity Council's ongoing "Snack & Chat" series with the hope that as many as possible will contribute to the important conversations happening there.
Moving forward, the Built Environments Student Council is eager and available to talk about harnessing the momentum from these events into the future. As always, we welcome any suggestions or feedback on these or any College-related student issues, so please feel free to contact us at [email protected].
Sincerely,
The Built Environments Student Council
