Hi all. Whew, the New Year rushed in, and it's hard to believe that January is approaching its end. We do have some fun things instore this year, and we're kicking it off next month:

Ever wondered what goes on inside our classrooms all day? Want to get an in-depth look at our facilities? Feel like taking a night off from cooking!? Come join us for an open house on February 24th. Feel free to bring the kiddos and any other parties who might be interested in learning a little bit more about our programs.

As this year comes to a close, and the new year is about to dawn, we wanted to wish you all the HAPPIEST New Year.

Here's hoping that 2022 was full of joy, happy kiddos, and stellar memories...and that 2023 will be even better.

**Gentle reminder that we will be closed on Monday, January 2nd, 2023 to observe the New Year.

As this festive season continues, reminders of reasons to be thankful are plenty. Today, we wanted to give a special Thankful Thursday shoutout to Seattle's own Downtown Ambassadors.

We see them, daily, zooming through the streets making sure that everything nearby is clean as well as maintaining a safe and welcoming downtown. Over the past year, they've removed nearly 1.3 million gallons of garbage, did away with nearly 30,000 graffiti tags, and helped almost 22,000 people with directions.

We know we appreciate them helping keep our kiddos safe during our adventures in the downtown corridor.

December sure is full of fun and festive days and celebrations. Today is no different! It's National Gingerbread House Day today. What better way to kick it off than by reading the story of everyone's favorite little troublemaker, The Gingerbread Man!

Wow!!

What an amazing time we all had celebrating this lovely autumn season with our KidsCentre kiddos and their families. We face painted, candy corn tossed, hay mazed, and cupcaked our way to a spooky good time.

Our biannual Professional Development Day was a huge success. Our entire KidsCentre team was able to get together, brainstorm, and grow as a unit.
Days like this make us stronger teachers so that we can implement fresh ideas and explore new professional horizons.

Welcome back, West Seattle! What a relief for us all to have the West Seattle Bridge back open. The bridge closure increased the commute from West Seattle immensely, but, with the reopening last week, that commute was greatly diminished. Now, it only takes about 15-20 minutes to get from there...to here. No more hours spent in the car.

Did you know that today is World Gratitude Day?

We can think of so many things that we are grateful for. We're grateful for this beautiful week of fall weather. We're grateful for the smiling faces of all of our kiddos. We're grateful for happy teachers who come to work each day ready to educate. We're grateful for pumpkins and incoming costumes! Thank YOU for allowing us all to play a role in all of your families. Our summer campers spent some time this afternoon learning a little about community and a lot about art!

Turtles, rabbits, and snakes - oh my! Our kiddos had such a good time getting to meet some animal friends up close and personally.

KidsCentre consistently strives to provide a dynamic curriculum dotted with fun enrichment activities. We were so excited to have a visit from Animal Encounters earlier this week to learn some interesting new facts!

Whew! It's been nice and warm out lately, and we've been taking full advantage of the gorgeous summer sunshine.

At KidsCentre, we view the playground and outdoors as additional classrooms, and we take a lot of pride in all of the work we have put into having four great spaces for outside play!

We have completely renovated our playground into an exciting and dynamic outdoor educational experience. Our outdoor learning environment offers various creative spaces for our children to explore, from sensory water tables and two great sandboxes to multiple large- motor areas designed for dramatic play. Toys and structures are strategically placed around our outdoor environment to encourage imaginative interaction – such as playhouses and a large wooden boat!

This month, we'd like to recommend a book that celebrates Pride. 'Rainbow' by Michael Genhart is an ode to rainbow families that affirms a parent's love for their child(ren) and a child's love for their parents. This book takes us through all of the colors of the rainbow and what they mean in relation to Pride.

There is a copy of this book in the lobby of our centers. Please feel free to pick it up and give it a look.

Further, don't forget to celebrate Pride with us tomorrow, June 24th, by wearing rainbow colored clothing to school!

Graduation is always a little bittersweet. It's so exciting to see some kiddos off to take on the world, but it's so sad to see them go. We're so fortunate to get to spend time with our preschoolers and kindergarteners. Creating happy memories through education is our goal, and we're so proud of our graduates.
