Each session within the series features a focused presentation by a luminary in their field of study or practice, or a panel of faculty, staff, or students. On September 1st, CEIE's Faith & Ecology Roundtable offered an Ecumenical Worship gathering to celebrate the Feast of Creation in Christ, newly added to Revised Common Lectionary in 2026. Leaders from the region prepared this service, bringing together prayers and rituals from many Christian traditions, all with the shared commitment to deepen connection to the sacredness of nature, and to recommit to our shared work of earth care and ecological justice.

This feast day begins the Season of Creation, an alternative liturgical season which goes until The Feast of St. Francis on October 4th. Visit our Earth care webpage to watch the YouTube recording and to find the worship aid, as you plan your own services during the Season of Creation > https://www.seattleu.edu/center-for-ecumenical-and-interreligious-engagement/ceie-earth-care/

This week, Leaders from across the Puget Sound Region gathered to encourage, learn from and collaborate with one another to ensure Free, Fair, Safe and Honored elections.

This event, co-sponsored by CEIE, Paths To Understanding, the Jewish Federation of Greater Seattle, and the Faith Action Network, provided opportunity for leaders to express their shared concerns for the upcoming election cycle, connect with resources for their community, and nurture relationships that will lead to cooperation and mutual commitments to maintain democratic norms through the election cycle and beyond.

Leaders also signed a shared statement affirming their commitment to free, fair, safe and honored elections, and to promoting the moral foundations for such a commitment in their tradition, and standing together to ensure voting rights, especially for our most vulnerable neighbors.

We thank everyone who attended!
