MEET THE STAFF MONDAY 💛 - Episode 8

My name is Ms. Aaliyah Wilson, and this is my first year at Summit Atlas teaching 7th grade English. I am from sunny Southern California and a nomad by nature. I’ve traveled and lived abroad for studies, work, and adventure! Along my life’s journey, I received a BA in English Linguistics and a MA in English Education. I love to play video games, work on my garden, cozy up with a scary book, hang out with my cats, and eat SPICY food! My favorite subjects in school were ELA, Japanese, and Marine Biology! As an educator, I hope to inspire a desire for exploration, insatiable curiosity, and self fulfillment in all of my students.

My name is Ms. Whitney White and I have been teaching science for 10 years. I started teaching in Arizona, but moved to the PNW shortly after and have been teaching 9th grade biology at Atlas for the past 8 years. In my free time I love to be outside looking at birds and being near the water. Nature is my happy place. I also enjoy riding my bike, doing yoga, reading, and spending time with my partner and friends. My favorite subject in school was English because I loved to write and read, and still enjoy doing both of these things to this day.

MEET THE STAFF MONDAY 💛 - Episode 6

Hi. My name is Jen Foster and this is my fifth year at Summit Atlas. I teach Special Ed. I live in Port Orchard, so I commute by ferry to work every day. Not too many people can say they’ve seen orcas on their commute (multiple times)! This is my second fall as an empty nester as my 2 kids are in Arizona for school/work. My husband and I spend these quiet weekends, with our kitten and dog, seeing live music, cooking, cheering for the Seattle Reign and thrifting.

It was so wonderful seeing so many new faces at our Open House yesterday! We loved spending the evening with you and are so excited to continue growing our Orca family. 💙🐋

MEET THE STAFF MONDAY 💛 - Episode 4

My name is Ms. Mills, and I have been teaching Special Education at Summit Atlas for the past 8 years! I was born and raised in Ohio, and outside of the classroom I’m a huge fan of scary movies and cheering on the Mariners at games. My partner Trent and I also love getting away to Whidbey Island whenever we can. At home, I’ve got my two dogs, Zoe and Oliver, keeping me company!

MEET THE STAFF MONDAY 💛 - Episode 3

My name is Ms. Wilk, and I have been teaching High School Science at Summit Atlas for the past six years. Before teaching at Atlas, I was an 8th-grade physical Science teacher and museum educator in my home state of Virginia. In my free time, I enjoy whitewater kayaking (which I also teach!), running, hiking, and camping. To relax, I enjoy doing yoga and reading in my hammock! 😊

MEET THE STAFF MONDAY 💛 - Episode 2

My name is Ms. Kent, I’ve been teaching science for the past 12 years! This is my 3rd year at Atlas, but my 8th year with Summit overall. I am the 7th grade science teacher and a 7th grade Mentor. Before switching to middle school I taught high school biology, AP environmental science, and Physics! In my free time I love reading and crafting. I crochet, sew, and make earrings. I also love cooking and baking, and love using fresh ingredients from my personal garden. I grew up in Los Angeles, California, but spent a lot of time in Washington as a kid. I loved it so much that I decided to move here permanently to become a teacher!
