Our 2026 Luncheon is officially in the books! We are beyond thankful for the incredible support and enthusiasm that helped us raise over $435,739 for tuition assistance. A heartfelt thank you to everyone who showed up for our future leaders.
This year, we celebrated the empowerment of student voices. The room was moved by our student speaker’s NY Times-published memoir and inspired as we honored award-winning author Donna Barba Higuera with the Grace Hopper Award.
As Brenda Leaks, SGS Head of School, shared:
"This is how we inspire and develop courageous leaders at Seattle Girls’ School; how we empower their voices and help them believe that they can make a difference in their communities… because we certainly believe that they can."

Say hello to our newest Student Interest Group (SIG): Gardening SIG! 🌿 Last week, our students took the lead by planting a beautiful variety of greenery near our entrance. We love seeing this kind of student-initiated leadership in action!

We are absolutely thrilled to announce that Donna Barba Higuera is the recipient of the 2026 Grace Hopper Award for outstanding achievement.
A New York Times award-winning children’s book author hailing from Central California, 's work beautifully navigates the complexities of cultural identity and biracial experiences. She brings these important themes to life with a unique blend of humor, magic, and a signature "touch of spooky" that captivates readers of all ages.
Join us as we honor her incredible contributions at our upcoming luncheon on May 7th. Don’t miss this chance to see empowerment in action!

We hope everyone enjoyed their spring break! We're starting the season off right with some interactive STEM learning.
In this lesson, our 6th graders are leveling up their coding skills by programming mini-robots, learning how to bring their coding to life in the physical world. The results are pretty electric if we must say so ourselves. 🤖
