Are you in the mood for a tune? June is African American Music Appreciation Month, celebrating a wealth of musical styles with deep roots in history and tradition — in stories of tragedy and slavery and racism, as well as moments of celebration, joy, faith, and love. It's a great time to explore the work of African-American musicians, composers, singers, and songwriters, as well as the nearly endless assortment of musical styles they created and inspired — from jazz, rhythm and blues, and gospel, to hip-hop, barbershop, swing, rap, and more!

The work of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. must remain a constant inspiration for each of us, and it is a rich opportunity to celebrate his life and legacy even as we support his dream of a better world.
