The dragon has a mythical reputation in many East Asian cultures as a symbol of dignity, health, honor, success, luck, and strength. As we enter the Year of the Dragon, may these attributes follow you throughout the year. Happy Lunar New Year!

Meet our amazing neonates and pediatric instructor, Hope. In the 5 weeks she’s been with us she has shifted our focus from big humans, to tiny humans (which aren’t just mini versions of us😅). She has so much great experience and the stories to tell the tale. Here’s a little sniper from Hope herself.
“I’ve been an RT for 13 years, and currently work at UWMC. Five weeks ago I started as an instructor at SCC. The thing thag I love the most about being an RT is helping patients, particularly neonates. I like the fast-paced environment and critically thinking. RT is a great fit for me”.

Our next Respiratory Therapist highlight is our incredibly caring clinical director Scott!!

“I started my career as an RT in 2001.
In 2004 I started at Seattle Central as a clinical instructor. In 2007 I was offered and accepted a full-time position as the Director of Clinical Education. As a clinician, I enjoy using my skills and abilities at the bedside to make a positive impact in my patients’ care. This includes providing input to the care team as well as caring for critically ill patients and helping their family members feel at ease while in the hospital. As an educator, I enjoy helping students develop the skills needed to become successful clinicians. I love seeing students make connections and gain confidence in their journeys towards this rewarding profession.”
