Happy Syttende Mai! Yesterday, St. Al's paraded in Ballard's annual celebration of Norwegian Constitution Day. We're honored to be a part of Ballard's proud heritage since 1907!

Thank you , our Backyard Grill Sponsor for this year’s drama production of Barbecuing Hamlet. To grill or not to grill—turns out it’s deliciously fun.

Outsider BBQ and Beer Garden serves Texas-style smoked meats with a Turkish twist in the Fremont and Ballard neighborhood. Check out their amazing story, or just let the BBQ speak for itself!

School Leadership Matters

As Principal Nick Padrnos approaches his 5-year milestone at St. Alphonsus, our community is reflecting on what makes the school so special, a place where students grow not just academically, but as curious and virtuous young people.

From classrooms filled with meaningful discussion and great books, to a school culture rooted in strong relationships and joyful faith, the impact is clear. Our students are thriving, and families feel the difference.

We’re grateful for 5 years of vision, dedication, and care for every student and family. And we’re just getting started.

Our 8th grade students led Friday's Stations of the Cross for the whole school. Each station was lovingly narrated and illustrated through the prayers the students read and the vignettes they acted out. We ended the school day in prayerful contemplation and silence as we prepare for Christ's resurrection.

Thank you to the entire 8th grade class and Mrs. Duncan for the reverent and thoughtful presentation of this year's Good Friday Stations of the Cross.

Today, our 5th and 6th grade girls participated in a meaningful Lenten service project, assembling over 300 care kits for our unhoused neighbors. Each kit included helpful information about local resources and services to support those working toward stability.

We were proud to donate these kits to a local outreach organization whose volunteers will distribute them directly to those in need—offering care, connection, and support throughout our community. We are so proud of our students for putting their faith into action through compassion, service, and love for others.
