National Apprenticeship Week kickoff 👏
Today we recognize the backbone of our BAC trades our apprentices. The early mornings, long days, time in the classroom, and commitment to mastering the craft does not go unnoticed.
You are putting in the work, building your skills, and carrying this industry forward. Because of you, the future isn’t just bright, it’s being built stronger every single day.

What a day at the Western Washington Masonry Trades Apprenticeship Contest last Saturday.
The skill, focus, and pride on display say everything about where our BAC trades are at right now.
Huge thank you to our signatory contractors for training and mentoring the next generation, our vendors and suppliers for their continued support, and to Ernie Goodhue for donating levels for investing in the future of this trade.
Appreciation to our training center staff, Northwest Masonry Institute, WWMT, and BAC staff, and all of our judges and volunteers who made this event happen.
Special thanks to Keystone Masonry Inc. for cooking an incredible meal and for keeping everything running smoothly.
To the families and friends, thank you for standing behind these apprentices every step of the way.
And to all of our apprentices… You showed up and represented this trade the right way. That’s what it’s all about.

🚨 Attention WWMT Apprentices 🚨
A great new resource is now available to help support your success both on the job and at home.
The Construct a Career Wrap-Around Funding Program has now expanded eligibility to apprentices with up to 3 years of on-the-job training (OJT)! 👏🏽
This FREE grant-funded program through the Washington State Building & Construction Trades Council helps apprentices remove barriers so they can stay focused on building a strong union career.
Support may include:
🦺 Tools, work clothing & boots
🏠 Housing & utility assistance
🚗 Transportation & lodging for work or classroom training
🧒 Child care expenses
⚡ Emergency needs
If you have less than 36 months in your apprenticeship or fewer than 6,000 OJT hours, you may qualify.
This is about ensuring our apprentices have what they need to succeed, because strong support systems build strong careers.
