What monuments are symbols of our country? Can we use blocks to create a model of a well known monument?

With in person voting underway at Lake and Park the hollow blocks were the choice for building a voting booth.

A visit to Drew’s clay studio to make holders for the beeswax candles. Families enrich all of our studies as they help children make connections between school life and the world.

Have you ever been to a Bee Fair? Children from every class came together to celebrate learning about these small but mighty insects. If you have any questions about bees 🐝 just ask a Lake and Park student.

Understanding the roles of different bees in the hive was played out in a fun game today. Bees from two different hives competed for limited resources.

Our study of bees offers many ways to connect our hands, and our hearts and our heads. How are we connected to bees?

Characters come to life when children read aloud to each other. Literature groups create an opportunity for children to connect through books. How do you think the character may respond? How would you feel in that situation?

Painting in the early years develops small and gross muscle control. When process is promoted over product children are encouraged to take risks, explore their own ideas, and gain confidence in their abilities.

Children spent the week exploring, experimenting and playing together inside and out. Getting to know classmates and teachers and developing an ownership of classroom spaces lays the groundwork for a meaningful year.
