Safety isn’t just a priority during Construction Safety Week, it’s the foundation of everything we build. Now is the perfect time to download tools, toolbox talks, planning guides, and resources to help engage your teams and reinforce a culture of care on every jobsite. We encourage you to keep up the conversation throughout the year.

This year’s theme — Recognize • Respond • Respect — reminds us that every worker, every role, and every decision matters when it comes to preventing serious injuries and fatalities.

As we near the end of Work Zone Awareness Week, this serves as a powerful reminder of why AGC is so deeply committed to promoting safety in work zones. Incidents like this can have far more serious consequences.

When you drive through a work zone, it’s more than a change in traffic patterns, reduced speeds, or a brief inconvenience—it’s an active workplace. Crews are out there every day working to improve our roadways. Please do your part: slow down, stay alert, and follow posted guidelines.

These simple actions save lives. Most injuries and fatalities in work zone incidents involve drivers, so even beyond protecting workers, this is about protecting yourself and those who matter most to you.

It’s National Work Zone Awareness Week! Join the movement to keep our roads and the people who build them safe. Every day, thousands of workers are out there improving our infrastructure, and they deserve to make it home safely. Rember to slow down, stay alert and drive distraction-free in work zones. Small actions behind the wheel can save lives.
