📚Exciting News! Our curator for the Kuroshio Odyssey, Margaret/Nikal, is sharing her journey of selecting books to feature at East Asia Library (TEAL). This is her very first post.
Margaret/Nikal's exploration began in the course JSISA 588/HSTAS 590: Making Modern Taiwan (taught by Prof. James Lin of UW Taiwan Studies Program). She's delved into books covering Indigenous cultures, collective rights, Taiwan's colonial history, and more, all sourced from UW libraries, particularly TEAL. These books will form the foundation of our TEAL books display, shedding light on the enduring struggles and rich cultures of Taiwan Indigenous peoples throughout history. Stay tuned for more updates! 🌏📖
Next Tuesday - We will have four Indigenous delegations flying from Taiwan to Seattle. Come meet and talk to them at the UW campus! Please RSVP https://bit.ly/KuroshioRSVP
