Thank you to everyone who joined us at Hot Stove Society for Happy Birthday Julia, our annual celebration of Julia Child on her birthday. It was a joy to see so many of you channel your inner Julia and celebrate her spirit of technique, generosity, and pure joy at the table.
The menu for the night included:
Icicle radishes with Payson Breton salt crystal butter
Rosé-poached freestone peaches with burrata, olio verde olive oil, grilled bread, chives and sea salt
Fleurons with crimini madeira gravy and smoked ham crisps
10-month aged Comté soufflé with fresh Prosser Farm tomato fondue
Penn Cove clam and mussel fideuà with saffron, dulce pimentón and fresh lemon
Persian lime tahini and lamb merguez with grilled Prosser Farm Walla Walla onions, peppers, eggplant and spicy Calabrian chili salsa
Beef rib roast and beef cap salad with salt-rubbed roasted potatoes and Dario’s “Chianti butter”
“Nancy Silverton Made Julia Cry” — a crème fraîche brioche tart with Prosser Farm plums
