We'll have our final PTA general meeting of the year on Monday, June 8th, in the school cafeteria at 6:30 PM. Agenda items include electing officers, reviewing open and appointed positions, and approving the PTA budget for the 26-27 school year. A budget overview will be sent out to members in advance of the meeting. We'll also hear any updates from Ms. Davis and committee chairs with their wrap-ups for the year. Snacks/drinks provided. Registration for the West Seattle Soccer Club fall soccer season opens tomorrow, June 1st! The club provides recreational soccer program for girls and boys aged 5 to 18 years. Additional information and registration can be found at westseattlesoccer.org

Celebrate the school year with a skate party at Southgate Roller Rink! We've reserved the whole rink from 4 - 6 PM on Saturday June 6th for kids and family members to skate. Tickets are $12 for each skater and include skate rentals. Non-skating parents are free to join and the snack bar will be open. Scholarship available, email [email protected]. Art Walk is coming up soon on May 29th from 6:30 - 7:30 PM. Families, friends, and neighbors can walk the hallways and enjoy student work along with some art installations, a fiber arts exhibit, and a few create stations that will be in the courtyard!

Artists will be busy choosing pieces from their art portfolios to showcase in the art walk next week. Ms. Kelly will be looking for help prepping the student selected pieces and hanging paper throughout the halls. Please reach out to her and let her know if you might be willing to donate time. It could be time at home prepping pieces or time at school closer to the day hanging paper and art. Send Ms. Kelly an email at [email protected].

Field Day is June 11th and we need your help! Volunteer jobs include running a station for 2 hours or setting up for the event. (Volunteer procedure has changed this year. When you sign up for a field day position, Ms. McChesney will email you an invitation to fill out volunteer paperwork. Please fill that out by June 8th so we ensure that position will be filled.)

We're still looking for a few volunteers to help the PTA next year. This is a great opportunity to get involved and support the school. If you'd be able to help fill a role and are interested in learning more, please email Ryan ([email protected]) to set up an informational coffee/chat. Most roles take less than 2-3hr/mo or could even be just helping put on one event a year. We particularly welcome parents of younger classes to get involved.
