Campus has been quieter since graduation, but the energy of the Class of 2026 still lingers. Faculty share their final words of wisdom for this rambunctious and philosophical group. From their boundless creativity to their deep kindness, these graduates have taught us as much as we’ve taught them.
To our recent grads: keep questioning, keep imagining, and keep creating—the world is waiting for your unique perspective.

Congratulations to rising SAAS seniors Paige W. ’27 and Sophie B. ’27, finalists in the 2026 Ninth Circuit Civics Contest!
High schoolers across nine Western states submitted essays and videos inspired by the theme: “Life, Liberty and the Pursuit of Happiness—Your Voice. Your Story. Your America.”
Paige and Sophie’s award-winning video argues that “the Pursuit of Happiness” translates into the right to access education in modern times.

SAAS graduate Eli Herst ’26 was recognized as Washington's best high school baseball player in the Gatorade Washington awards! 🏆
This past year, the Metro League MVP led the Cardinals to a 12-10-2 record in their second-ever season. He compiled a 4-0 pitching record with 98 strikeouts and batted .477 with three home runs.
After graduating this week, Eli is off to play for Vanderbilt University.
“[Vanderbilt] has been my dream school since I was an 11- or 12-year old watching Jack Leiter on ESPN,” he said on a recent King 5 Seattle segment.

Introducing the Cardinals Care: Compassion in Action Project! ⭐️
Working together in small groups, 8th-graders identified needs within their communities before designing their own nonprofit organizations to help meet those needs.
Students conducted in-depth research and interviewed real-life changemakers about leadership structure, programmatic impact, pay scales, and more. The project culminated in presentations they shared with their middle school peers this week.
Great work contributing boldly to a changing world, Cardinals.

We celebrated their SAAS journeys with 7 student performances, 5 student speeches, student-made films, and more at McCaw Hall.
