The theme for Ingraham Rocketry's TARC competition this year was resilience. The students got through several setbacks (random left turns! rocket recovered from the river!) and made it to national competition again. The best example was an unfortunate crash last weekend--11 days before departing for Nationals. Within a week, students had laid up a new carbon-fiber tube, fixed the damage, and flown the rocket on test flights.

Next weekend is nationals, and we're all so excited! (Photo is of 4/9 team members)

It's been a long, crazy COVID year, and Ingraham Rocketry is headed for TARC Nationals in Pasco this weekend! Good luck to our students!

Finals for the world's largest student rocket contest will kick off this weekend with 100 teams competing to become national champion — and six of the teams are from the Seattle area.

Once again, Ingraham Rocketry missed the TARC finals by one place. So close, and so very far away. And now we start thinking about next year...

There was a surprise break in the weather forecast for Sunday, so we are launching again! Meet at the auto shop at 9:00, leaving at 9:30, planning to be back at Ingraham at 2:00. AV bay team meets at 8:00 for a few repairs.

Ingraham Rocketry will be launching at 60 Acres on Sunday. We're getting to the field at about 10:45 and will stay for 2 hours or so.

Ingraham Rocketry doesn't just build rockets--the students scratch-build all of their parachutes for Team America Rocketry Challenge too!

Ingraham Rocketry will be flying the TARC testbed rocket on Saturday, testing the on-board controls! Fingers crossed for good flights!

Ingraham Rocketry had a great Memorial Day weekend of flying. Two students earned high power rocketry certifications, and Project Silver Star flew supersonic twice, to a little over 10,000 feet and a little over 13,000 feet.

Ingraham Rocketry's Project Silver Star had its shakedown flight on a cloudy afternoon in Mansfield, WA on Sunday. It was powered by 1596 Newton-seconds of Red Lightning goodness to 7,951 feet above ground, and returned safely to earth two minutes later. Everything worked perfectly, so we are on track for a big motor, 12,000 feet, and Mach 1.2 on Memorial Day weekend!
