Milonga Basic and Ms. Jenny M.
BREAKING NEWS: Ms. Jenny M will be your lovely guest instructor for Tuesday evening Women's tango workshop, this week only. Jenny will offer a workshop on basic steps and sequences for milonga.
Jenny M has been teaching tango for several years in Seattle, Olympia, and Tacoma. She works hard on her dance and has a lot of fun in the process. Studying with Jenny, you will find that she's got a great deal of sweetness to her teaching and heart to her dance.
The milonga is a rhythmic and playful dance that predates the tango and is still danced today at tango dance parties (also confusingly called "milongas") around the world. By learning some basics steps and sequences you will not have to sit out the milonga tandas. Unlike tango, milonga is often upbeat, always fun, and can even be funny!
Same time, same place, $15/person, please pay to Jenny by the end of class. Please PM Max Kepler by noon on Tuesday if you need the address. I hope you will take advantage of Jenny's depth of knowledge and passion for the predecessor dance to tango - the milonga.

Our good friend Gwen Spinks from B.C., Canada is visiting us in Seattle for just a couple of days this week and she wants to break the myth that you need a partner to practice with.
As such, she is offering a 3-week challenge to improve your tango dancing with just five minutes of practice a day. (Actually, this method works for any type of dancing!)
This Thursday, 4/30, Gwen will offer a short demo of how you can use the 5-minutes-a-day plan at home to improve your own dancing. I’ll have the studio open from 8-9pm and at 8:15 sharp, Gwen will show you exactly what to practice for this challenge (yes, spectators are welcome!)
Register at the door for 3-week challenge
8-9pm, Demo at 8:15, sharp
Phinney Neighborhood Center
Room 1, Blue Building
6532 Phinney Ave N, Seattle
$5 cover, free parking in either lot off N 67th St.
** Chance to earn a private lesson with Max
** I am piggy-backing on Gwen’s challenge to her students and offering an incentive to my students (new and old) who attend Gwen’s demo, register for, and complete the 3-week challenge. If at the end of the three weeks you do not see or feel a difference in your dancing I will give you a gift certificate for a free 45-minute private lesson (value $75). This challenge is on the honor system - only you will know if you have practiced!
Feel free to bring a friend to video you at this event. You will want before & after footage.
See you on the dance floor, soon! :)
