This Week in Union History, we look all the way back to 1791. It was then, on this very day, December 15th, that a Union of a different sort had a moment worthy of remembrance.
Two hundred and thirty-one years ago, those earliest of American citizens crafted the bill of rights, still thought by many to be one of the most important documents of the last few hundred years.

This week in union history saw the merger of the American Federation of Labor (AFL) and the Congress of Industrial Organizations (CIO) all the way back in 1955.
Our union, the OPCMIA, is an affiliate of North America's Building Trades Unions which is, in turn, a constitutional department of the AFL-CIO.
